The so-called Villa of Augustus on the North Slope of Vesuvius open today and tomorrow

Sorry for the incredibly late notice, but I thought you might find this of a certain interest. Today and tomorrow (1st-2nd Oct, 9-13 & 15-18) we open the so-called Villa of Augustus, in Somma Vesuviana on the North Slope of Vesuvius. You might have heard of this site already, the University of Tokyo leads its excavation since year 2002. As usual, we open the site to the public for 1/2 weekends at the end of each campaign, mostly to raise awareness among the local population (with good results, more than 3000 visitors each time). If you're in the Bay of Naples, you should take this opportunity; if you're not there yet, please let me know in advance and I'll try to arrange a visit for you. You can find directions to the site in the following webpage: www.apollineproject.org/somma.html
